Given the recent terrorist activity making the news, and on the day that the movie World Trade Center was released no less, I don’t think we’ll really know why it is that the movie isn’t making as big bucks as the studios would’ve liked.
Opening at a weak $4.4 million and scoring only $3.3 million yesterday, World Trade Center doesn’t seem to be the mega blockbuster I’m sure Maria Bello was hoping for.
Today is former ER star Maria Bello’s birthday, she turns 39.
Or maybe not such a happy birthday. One of her recent movies, The Dark, is getting pretty poor reviews, breaking her streak of great performances from the movies A History of Violence and The Sisters. I doubt her next movie, Flicka, will bring her any kudos.

Maria Bello’s upcoming movie, currently titled World Trade Center (directed by Oliver Stone) was made at lightning fast speed since it only began shooting last month and is already scheduled for an August release.
Personally, I think anyone involved in that movie should be ashamed of themselves of taking advantage of such a disastrous event. What next, a Hurricane Katrina movie? Because of this, I’m deducting one point from Maria’s rating.
